DevTune does not just collect data — it helps you understand what to do with it. The Insights & Actions system provides AI-generated recommendations and a workflow for tracking improvements to your AI search visibility.

What are Insights?

Insights are AI-generated observations and recommendations based on your search tracking data:
  • Content gaps - Topics or prompts where your content is missing or insufficient
  • Visibility gaps - Platforms or areas where your visibility is lower than expected
  • Competitive intelligence - Opportunities based on competitor weaknesses
  • Untapped opportunities - Areas with low competition that you could target
  • Defensive positions - Strengths you should protect from competitor gains

What are Actions?

Actions are trackable tasks representing work to improve your AI search visibility:
  • Created from insights - Convert AI recommendations into tracked tasks
  • Manual creation - Add your own improvement items
  • Status tracking - Monitor progress through open, in-progress, blocked, completed, dismissed, or archived states
  • Priority management - Assign urgent, high, medium, or low priority
  • Channel assignment - Route actions to the right team (docs, content, devrel, PR, engineering, product, or other)

The Insights-to-Action Workflow

1. Data Collection

DevTune collects data from search tracking tests across AI platforms:
  • Presence and visibility data per prompt and platform
  • Citation and brand mention data
  • Competitor visibility metrics
  • Sentiment analysis of AI responses

2. Insight Generation

AI analyzes your data to identify six types of insights:
  • content-gap - Missing content that could improve visibility
  • visibility-gap - Platform or topic areas where visibility is below expectations
  • competitive-improvement - Areas where you can gain ground against competitors
  • untapped-opportunity - Low-competition areas with high potential
  • defend-position - Strong positions that may be at risk from competitors
  • competitive-weakness - Competitor vulnerabilities you can exploit

3. Review and Prioritize

Review insights by severity level:
  • Critical - Requires immediate attention
  • High - Important, address soon
  • Medium - Valuable but not urgent
  • Low - Consider when resources allow
Each insight includes an enrichment score and opportunity score to help you assess its potential impact.

4. Create Actions

Convert valuable insights into tracked actions:
  • Actions are pre-populated with context from the source insight
  • Assign priority, channel, and status
  • Suggested actions from insights can be accepted or modified

5. Track Progress

Monitor actions through their lifecycle:
  • Open - Not yet started
  • In Progress - Currently being worked on
  • Blocked - Waiting on a dependency
  • Completed - Finished
  • Dismissed - Not relevant, will not be acted on
  • Archived - Retained for reference
