The Search Tracking Dashboard is your central hub for understanding AI search presence. It displays your primary KPIs, trend data, competitive analysis, and actionable insights. This guide explains each section and how to use them effectively.

Accessing the Dashboard

Navigate to AI Search Tracking > Overview in your project sidebar to access the main dashboard.

Primary KPI Cards

At the top of the dashboard, three primary KPI cards display your most important metrics.

Overall Presence Rate

The percentage of tracked prompts where your brand or citation sources appeared in AI responses. This is your top-level indicator of AI search visibility.
  • Calculated across all prompts and all enabled platforms
  • Tracked over time with trend indicators (up, down, stable)
  • Compared to previous periods to show change

Share of Voice

Your brand’s share of total mentions and citations relative to competitor brands across all tracked prompts.
  • Shows your competitive standing at a glance
  • Calculated as your mentions and citations divided by total mentions and citations (yours plus competitors)
  • Trend indicator shows whether you are gaining or losing share

Sentiment Score

The average sentiment of AI responses that mention your brand.
  • Positive, neutral, or negative classification
  • Aggregated across all platforms and prompts where your brand appears
  • Trend indicator tracks sentiment changes over time

Secondary Metrics

Below the primary KPIs, additional metric cards provide deeper insight:
  • Docs Presence - How often your documentation citation sources appear
  • Blog Presence - How often your blog citation sources are cited
  • Brand Mentions - Rate of brand name mentions in responses
  • Top of Answer - Whether your brand appears first in AI responses
  • Avg Citation Rank - Your average position among cited sources
  • Primary Citation Share - Proportion of citations pointing to your citation sources versus competitors

Top Priority Actions Card

The dashboard includes a Top Priority Actions card that surfaces the most impactful actions you can take to improve your AI search presence. These are generated from the insights engine and ranked by potential impact. Each action includes:
  • A clear description of what to do
  • The expected impact on your metrics
  • The prompts or platforms the action relates to

Trend Chart

A time-series chart shows how your metrics change over time.

Metric Selector

Use the metric selector above the chart to switch between different metrics:
  • Overall Presence Rate
  • Share of Voice
  • Sentiment Score
  • Any secondary metric

Multi-Brand Comparison

Toggle competitor brands on and off in the trend chart to compare your performance against competitors over time. This makes it easy to spot when competitors are gaining ground or when your content improvements are paying off.

Time Periods

Select different time windows:
  • 7 days - Recent performance
  • 30 days - Monthly trend
  • 90 days - Quarterly view

Reading the Chart

  • X-axis - Time (days or weeks depending on selected range)
  • Y-axis - Metric value (percentage or score)
  • Lines - One per selected brand
  • Data points - Individual test run results

Platform Comparison

A breakdown of your presence across each enabled AI search platform.

Per-Platform Metrics

For each platform:
  • Presence rate
  • Share of voice
  • Citation count
  • Trend direction

Using Platform Data

Identify:
  • Your strongest platforms (maintain presence)
  • Your weakest platforms (improvement opportunities)
  • Platform-specific content needs

Prompt Performance

An overview of how individual prompts perform.

Top Performing Prompts

Prompts where you have the highest presence:
  • Validates your content covers these topics well
  • Identifies strengths to maintain

Underperforming Prompts

Prompts with low or zero presence:
  • Opportunity areas for content creation
  • Content gaps to address
  • Competitive challenges to investigate

Insights Summary

AI-generated insights about your search tracking results appear on the dashboard. DevTune analyzes your data and produces actionable insights.

Insight Types

DevTune generates six types of insights:
  • content-gap - Topics where you have no presence but competitors do, indicating content you should create
  • visibility-gap - Prompts where your presence is significantly lower than expected based on your content
  • competitive-improvement - Areas where a competitor recently gained presence, potentially at your expense
  • untapped-opportunity - Prompts with low competition where creating content could establish early presence
  • defend-position - Areas where you currently lead but competitors are gaining ground
  • competitive-weakness - Topics where a specific competitor is weak, presenting an opportunity to capture their share

Acting on Insights

Each insight includes:
  • A description of the finding
  • The affected prompts and platforms
  • Recommended actions to take
  • Priority level

Competitive Analysis

The dashboard provides competitive context showing how your brand compares to tracked competitor brands.

Relative Position

See your presence relative to:
  • Each individual competitor brand
  • The aggregate competitive landscape

Competitive Gaps

Identify where competitors outperform you:
  • Specific prompts where they appear and you do not
  • Platforms where they have stronger presence
  • Topics where they dominate

Using the Dashboard Effectively

Weekly Review

A regular weekly check should include:
  1. Review the three primary KPIs and their trend directions
  2. Check the Top Priority Actions card for new recommended actions
  3. Scan insights for any new findings
  4. Review prompt performance for changes

Monthly Assessment

A deeper monthly review should cover:
  1. Overall trend direction across the full 30-day or 90-day view
  2. Competitive position changes
  3. Platform-level performance shifts
  4. Progress on previously identified actions

From the dashboard, you can navigate to:

Detailed Views

  • Click any prompt to see its detailed per-platform results
  • Click any platform to see its full prompt-level breakdown
  • Click any insight to see its full details and recommended actions

Configuration

Access the Config page from the sidebar to adjust platforms, citation sources, brand terms, and brands.
