Projects are the foundation of DevTune. Each project is a dedicated workspace for tracking and monitoring your AI search visibility for a specific product or brand.

What is a Project?

A project in DevTune contains everything related to tracking one product:
  • AI Search Tracking - Monitor your visibility across AI search platforms like ChatGPT Search, Perplexity, Gemini, Google AI Mode, and Grok
  • Prompts and topics - Search queries organized into topic groups
  • Citation sources - Your tracked domains that appear in AI search results
  • Brand tracking - Your brand and competitor brands to monitor
  • Insights and actions - AI-generated recommendations and task management
  • Adoption metrics - Package download and usage tracking
  • LLM Traffic - Monitor AI bot visits and referral traffic to your site

Plan Entitlements

Project features are gated by your subscription plan:
  • Free: Limited to Gemini platform only
  • Starter ($49/mo): ChatGPT Search, Perplexity, and Gemini
  • Plus ($99/mo): Same platforms as Starter, with higher prompt limits
  • Pro ($199/mo): All five platforms including Google AI Mode and Grok
  • Enterprise: Custom limits and all platforms

When to Create Multiple Projects

One Project Per Product

We recommend creating separate projects for distinct products: Good approach:
  • “Payment API” - for your payment processing product
  • “Auth Platform” - for your authentication product
  • “Analytics Dashboard” - for your analytics product
Avoid:
  • “All Our Products” - mixing multiple products in one project

Why Separate Projects?

  • Cleaner metrics - Each product gets focused visibility scores
  • Focused insights - Recommendations are specific to each product
  • Better organization - Easy to find what you need
  • Targeted prompts - Search queries specific to each product

Project Ownership

Projects belong to team accounts, not personal accounts. This means:
  • All team members can access shared projects
  • Settings and configurations are shared
  • Departing team members do not take projects with them

Creating a New Project

To create a new project:
  1. Go to your team’s account home page
  2. Click Create Project (or the + button)
  3. Follow the 5-step project setup wizard:
    • Step 1: Product Basics - Enter your product name, description, and key details
    • Step 2: Review AI-Generated Context - DevTune generates a product context based on your input; review and refine it
    • Step 3: Add Competitor - Identify competitor brands and their domains
    • Step 4: Select Prompts - Choose or create the search prompts to track
    • Step 5: Run Test - Execute your first search tracking test

Resuming an Incomplete Wizard

If you exit the project creation wizard before completing all steps, your project is saved as a draft. You can resume the wizard at any time by clicking on the draft project card on your account home page. The wizard will pick up where you left off.

Managing Multiple Projects

If you have several projects:
  • The account home page shows all projects as cards with key statistics
  • Use the search bar to find projects by name
  • Each project card shows config count, schedule count, and last test run time
  • Click any project card to navigate into it

Project Lifecycle

Active Projects

Active projects are the ones you are currently monitoring. Keep search tracking schedules active and review insights regularly.

Deleting Projects

Project deletion is permanent and removes all:
  • Search tracking data and history
  • Analytics and insights
  • Configurations and settings
  • Prompts, topics, and citation source data
To delete a project, use the context menu (three-dot menu) on the project card on the account home page and select Delete Project. You will be asked to confirm before deletion proceeds.
Warning: Deleted projects cannot be recovered.
